After spending two weeks on work experience at Action Images during World Cup 94, Andy successfully applied for a full time job there on leaving school, and became a mainstay of the picture library team during the company’s transition from film to digital.
As the industry changed, so did his role, with Andy working across various departments and learning skills in the lab, production, archiving, sales and marketing teams as well as supporting photographers in the field.
Working as a photo editor, Andy has curated thousands of image selections, ranging from bespoke client briefs of three or four images, to comprehensive World Cup preview collections comprising thousands of photos.
Andy is a photographer specialising in sports action but he is comfortable shooting a range of other editorial and commercial subjects. He is also able to work as a picture editor, either in the office or on location, and has project managed several archiving and scanning projects.
